Currently equipped with bar code readers, iDTGV PDAs facilitate passenger travels, notably by:
- controlling tickets
- consulting train routes
- rerouting passengers
- providing correspondence data

- nightly file updates: train composition, seat validity, and train cartography
- real-time mobile fleet management
- software maintenance
